About this paper
Philip Dawid, Vanessa Didelez
The authors establish a graphical test for identifying optimal sequential strategies. Under positivity, they show that success of the general graphical check implies simple stability, if strategy action parents are included among observational action parents and every covariate is an ancestor of the outcome. This is sufficient, not necessary; the paper does not address estimation or optimization.
