About this paper
Nicolas Ray, Dmitry Sokolov
The authors introduce a method for tracing polylines across triangulated surfaces without numerical integration. For each triangle, a stream-mesh maps entry points to exits using flux. This gives paths a cross-free property across triangles, though local overlaps within a triangle remain possible. The authors report that RK4 steps above 1/100 of average edge length caused crossings on most tested models.
