SPECTECTOR checks whether speculation adds observable information leaks beyond a program’s ordinary behavior. It compares memory-access locations and jump targets across ordinary and speculative traces using symbolic execution under a bounded speculative window. In 240 compiled x64 examples, it reports a residual leak in Clang’s speculative-load-hardening output for Example #10 at -O2, though hardware may make the modeled leak spurious.
