About this paper

Ítalo A. S. Assis, João B. Fernandes, Tiago Barros, Samuel Xavier-de-Souza

The authors develop a run-time tuner for chunk sizes in 3D RTM, where wave propagation limits scalability. Coupled simulated annealing tests candidate sizes, and the selected size is reused after tuning the first shot. Across five systems, it outperformed default OpenMP schedulers; on Ogun, it reported a 33.1% speedup over static scheduling, with overhead below 2% in tested experiments.
