About this paper

The authors test how robot adaptation through time-local predictive information (TiPI) changes people's perceptions. In a within-subjects study, 24 participants interacted with adaptive and fixed, reactive Sphero BB8 conditions. Adaptive behavior received higher RoSAS Warmth ratings, with a median paired difference of −0.833 points; differing control and motion regimes prevent attributing the result to TiPI alone.
