Semantic TrueLearn estimates learners’ knowledge of unseen Wikipedia topics for educational video recommendations. It extends TrueLearn by using semantic links to transfer information from topics a learner has encountered into a prior estimate for an unobserved topic. On the full PEEK dataset, it raises recall and achieves a statistically significant, modest F1 gain over TrueLearn Novel, with lower precision.
