About this paper

Antoine Brochard, Sixin Zhang, Stéphane Mallat

The authors present ALPHA_I, a texture-synthesis model that matches correlations among rectified responses to oriented wavelets across scales, directions, and spatial offsets. In 256 × 256 grayscale experiments, it uses 35k statistics, about 15 times fewer than RF, with visually similar results to RF and VGG and often better results than PS. Quality is judged mainly by visual inspection; difficult structures remain.
