About this paper

Kiyanoush Nazari, Willow Mandil, Amir Ghalamzan E

The authors present a tactile controller that predicts whether a robot’s movement will cause an object to slip, then adapts the arm’s trajectory before slip begins rather than changing grip force. In a dynamic-transport test, both reactive and proactive controllers avoided failure in all trials, while 19 of 20 uncontrolled trials dropped the object; this finding is limited to that test.
