About this paper

Norman Di Palo, Arunkumar Byravan, Leonard Hasenclever, Markus Wulfmeier, Nicolas Heess, Martin Riedmiller

The authors present a framework that uses language models to generate verbal subgoals and a vision-language model to recognize them in images. In simulated stacking, its learning curve rises while a reward-only baseline remains at zero; reusing experience coincides with fewer interaction steps on later tasks. The experiments do not isolate which model drives exploration gains.
