About this paper

Madalina Olteanu, Fabrice Rossi, Florian Yger

The authors systematically survey general reviews of outlier and anomaly detection, rather than testing detectors, to map how the literature is organized. They search two engines, classify results, and use reference snowballing to expand the set. Across the surveys, they find more agreement on anomaly types than on method taxonomies, while noting that their screening is expert-based and not exhaustive.
