About this paper
Hemlata Sharma, Hitesh Harsora, Bayode Ogunleye
The authors compare and tune five regression models for predicting house prices from recorded characteristics in 2,930 Ames, Iowa homes with 82 variables. They use GridSearchCV and inspect feature importance for the selected model. In reported results, XGBoost has higher R² and lower MSE than linear regression, while linear regression has lower MAE; the finding is limited to this dataset.
