The authors present a gateway-based IoT detector whose honeypot server learns from attack and mirrored traffic, then periodically sends refreshed models to the gateway. They compare dynamic update method, DUM, with a static model, SCM. DUM achieved higher F1 in all three experiments; Random Forest reached 99.95% with a 48-hour window, but tests did not establish detection of novel attacks.
