About this paper

David Palmer, Albert Chern, Justin Solomon

The authors formulate field design as a convex optimization over lifted currents, where singularities appear as boundary and can be constrained. Their objective remains defined at singularities, and rounding extracts a field from the current. On 111 models, 70 meet a concentration threshold; this does not guarantee exact recovery or global optimality of the extracted field.
