About this paper

Hee-Geon Kang, Sunggon Kim

The authors introduce adaptive importance sampling for locally stable point processes on bounded regions. It draws independent homogeneous Poisson patterns, reweights them by the target density, and adapts the proposal rate. In one Strauss-process comparison, it achieved similar estimates with a time-variance of 0.001 versus 1.2 for MH and 6.7 for CFTP, but lost to both in one setting.
