About this paper

Yiming Shu, Jingyuan Zhou, Fu Zhang

IDEAM plans emergency-vehicle routes through dense traffic by selecting traffic-gap sequences and adapting its plan near a target gap. It probes forward to create space before changing lanes. Across 200 simulated tracks, IDEAM averaged 525.19 m of route progress at 40 seconds, 26.22 m more than its no-probing version; this does not establish real-world safety or reduced travel time.
