About this paper

Jonatha Anselmi, Josu Doncel

Balanced Splitting assigns static server groups to job classes and reserves helpers for overflow, reducing interference. The nonpreemptive policy does not require exact job sizes. Under stated subcritical scaling, helper-routing probability tends to zero and mean response time approaches the class-weighted mean service time; under critical Halfin–Whitt scaling, helper use also vanishes, without establishing zero waiting or throughput optimality.
