About this paper
Ian George, Marco Tomamichel
The authors develop an operator-based framework linking quantum correlation with information loss under noisy channels. It extends classical weighted L² spaces to noncommuting observables, connecting χ² contraction coefficients to maximal correlation of relaxed couplings. For standard operator-monotone functions, the square root of an input-dependent contraction coefficient equals the corresponding maximal-correlation coefficient. The framework also supports polynomial-time mixing-time bounds under specified channel and reference-state conditions, while leaving full asymptotic-common-data characterization open.
