The authors used three-dimensional optic nerve head shape and pressure-induced strain from 237 Chinese glaucoma patients to predict visual-field defect patterns with PointNet. Model maps emphasized the inferior and inferotemporal neuroretinal rim over the lamina cribrosa. For superior arcuate defects, area under the receiver-operating-characteristic curve was 0.87 ± 0.02 with strain versus 0.83 ± 0.02 without it. This cross-sectional comparison supports added predictive value, not causation or clinical benefit.
