About this paper
Sebastian Bitzer, Maximilian Egger, Mumin Liu, Antonia Wachter-Zeh
The authors present a code-based, LPN-based key- and message-additive homomorphic encryption protocol for secure aggregation in federated learning. Users encrypt updates under individual keys, while a committee enables the server to recover only their sum. Under LPN assumptions, for 50 users the protocol uses less per-user communication than direct secret sharing when collusion exceeds 0.22; this is not a runtime result.
