About this paper

TWINGS improves sparse-view novel-view synthesis by aligning dense monocular-depth points with reliable 3D anchors before initializing 3D Gaussian Splatting. It triangulates matched image points, fits a thin-plate-spline warp, and samples calibrated points near the anchors. On DTU with three views, it reports 21.52 dB PSNR versus 19.21 for CoR-GS, with benefits tapering as views increase or SfM reliably recovers geometry.
