HawkesNest provides a controlled simulator for testing spatiotemporal point-process models against known generating structures. It varies space–time entanglement and background heterogeneity while holding global rate, stability, simulation budget, and split policy fixed. In a joint sweep, Hawkes model test log-likelihood falls from 2.59 ± 0.06 to 2.09 ± 0.11; this does not isolate either axis as the cause.
