About this paper

Jimmy Gammell, Kaushik Roy

The authors present a baseline for side-channel attacks that uses uncropped power traces to predict the first SubBytes outputs for all 16 AES key bytes simultaneously. A standard transformer processes trace patches and learned byte-specific output tokens. On ASCADv1-variable, byte 2 single-trace accuracy is 99.97%, versus 95.94% for GPAM; this is not full-key accuracy.
