About this paper
Serafeim Baltadouros, Joost R. Duflou
The authors present a process-aware system for checking part thickness against design-for-manufacturability rules for molding and milling. It selects inscribed-sphere thickness for molding and ray-based thickness plus a slenderness check for milling. In a milling case study, it identifies one thin feature and classifies 17.4% of triangles as warnings, with none below the critical limit; settings demonstrate capabilities, not production thresholds.
