The paper compares learning from signals with and without knowing their generating schemes. Hidden source labels make observations follow the average scheme; revealed labels preserve heterogeneity and can improve information in the Blackwell sense. For binary states and signals with no fake data, if the average scheme is at least ε-informative, blind learning matches aware learning asymptotically with at most O(1/ε) times as many observations.
