About this paper
Kewen Wu, Guangxu Yang
The authors adapt decoded quantum interferometry to solve Hermite OPI in one streaming pass, encoding constraints in a quantum state and using decoding and Fourier interference to favor high-scoring polynomials. For every fixed approximation below 93.301%, the algorithm uses polylogarithmic space in the growing-ℓ regime. Classical algorithms need polynomial space above 75% for suitably few passes on specified hard instances; at or below 75%, classical matching bounds apply.
