About this paper
Tian Xu, Soroush Atashi, Tianju Xue
The authors couple 3D Gaussian Splatting with smoothed-particle hydrodynamics for solid-mechanics simulation and inverse parameter estimation. They generate independent SPH supports from the reconstructed Gaussian envelope and transfer simulated motion to Gaussian centers and shapes. In a beam test, the method reduced rollout time 48-fold; rendering agreement was measured after matching deformation amplitudes, and inverse tests used synthetic observations.
