About this paper

Weiyuan Gong, Muzhou Ma, Sitan Chen, Jordan Cotler, Hsin-Yuan Huang

The authors present Hamiltonian-learning protocols for experiments without interleaved control, using either a shared rotation and measurement direction or computational-basis preparation and readout. Uniform control reconstructs all coefficients of generic 2-local Hamiltonians on known interaction graphs without gauge ambiguity. For specified 1D and 2D nearest-neighbor IXZ models, Z-basis access recovers coefficients only up to site-dependent Pauli-Z conjugations and time reversal.
