Rank-layer calibration coordinates ranked prefix queries across calibration examples to recover the exact conformal threshold without completing every search. It checks candidates at the same rank and stops when the threshold is fixed. In MATH 3B / PRM, it used 1,522.91 mean queries, an 81.84% saving versus Serial, while returning the same sets; savings concern query count, not total system cost.
