About this paper
Sultan Alhamdan, Daniel Navia, Paulina Quintanilla
The paper develops a shared, parameter-conditioned predictive model to select daily irrigation rates for simulated heap-leaching columns. The model forecasts saturation from each column’s moisture profile and hydraulic properties, while a controller tests candidate rates. With correct parameters and full, noise-free profiles, median full-cycle tracking deviation from a 0.70 saturation target was 4.90%, similar to tuned PI’s 4.87%; results are simulations.
