About this paper

Yixin Wu, Mingjie Li, Yun Shen, Michael Backes, Yang Zhang

GeoCloak protects photographs from location inference by identifying and editing revealing clues while preserving the main scene, then applying adversarial perturbations when needed. It iterates with checks on image utility and its clue-analysis agent’s location prediction. Across four evaluated datasets, it lowers overall city-level accuracy from 41.2% to 9.9%, within evaluated attacker configurations and excluding globally recognizable landmarks.
