About this paper

Delip Rao, Ahmed Muharram, Chris Callison-Burch

Claim Cards let scientific verifiers record an interpretation before evidence gathering, including a claim’s quantifier and support threshold. In GPT-5.4 experiments, stricter edits changed verdict signs on 19 of 56 universal edits and 19 of 58 threshold edits, versus 7.5 and 8.3 expected under a no-effect comparison. This shows supplied readings affect verdicts, not which reading is correct.
