The authors define LRA as slots when Bob is correct and Eve is wrong. They model a Markov source and both receivers’ zero-order-hold estimates under randomized stationary transmissions. Optimizing Bob’s accuracy and Eve’s error can yield lower LRA than optimizing it directly, and maximizing LRA probability need not maximize persistence. The model assumes passive Eve and zero-order-hold reconstruction.
