About this paper
Hassan Tavakoli
The authors analyze an outcome-only rate controller for nested polar-code prefixes, which lengthens the prefix after decoding success and shortens it after failure. This one-step walk needs no channel estimate and admits closed-form stationary, age-of-information, and goodput analysis under a fixed memoryless channel. In simulations, it slightly exceeds a mismatched fixed prefix tuned for p=0.11 at p=0.16, not generally.
