About this paper
Christopher Conrad, Deepak Panda, Weisi Guo, Antonios Tsourdos
The authors study how recurrent policies behave when supervisors take control and later hand back authority. Proposed policies receive an interruption cue and structure memory to use it. In simulations, they reduce post-handback collision rates from 0.15 to 0.04–0.06, excluding collisions during override or within 15 steps of handback. These results concern simplified two-dimensional tasks and do not establish flight-ready safety.
