About this paper
Aashish Shaju, Steve Southward, Mehdi Ahmadian
The authors present an integrated control framework for articulated-truck platoons, combining gap keeping with road-adapted steering. It measures spacing along the preceding truck’s recent path and adjusts clothoid lookahead using road curvature and tracking error. In a simulated high-speed dual lane change, lateral error stays below 0.35 m, but the second follower exceeds the desired spacing-error bound under maximum acceleration.
