About this paper

Hiroyasu Usami

The authors analyze online tracking when a refresh can install only the current observation. They show that, on a fixed five-point metric, every randomized causal policy feasible on every path has a fixed path where expected refreshes are at least (T+1)/2, while offline needs exactly two. This worst-case hard-radius separation does not transfer unchanged to penalized tracking.
