About this paper

Don Li

ADACT jointly optimizes core power and cooling, modeling spatial heat diffusion with a heat equation and using an adjoint for control gradients. It uses one forward and one backward PDE solve per iteration. In a four-core simulation, it met two 90 W requests; peak temperature reached 78.8 °C, below the 85 °C reference, with cooling at its lower bound. This does not guarantee a hard temperature limit.
