About this paper
Kalana G. Abeywardena, Stark C. Draper
The authors model the thermodynamic mismatch cost of a message-passing decoder by tracking its state transitions, input statistics, and an assumed hardware prior. For a [7,4] Hamming code over a binary erasure channel, they report an approximately 0.514 aJ lower bound at 300 K across three iterations. This is not measured energy; memory costs are excluded.
