The authors develop a method for designing cable routes and lengths that make a SoftSnap robot match target shapes. A learned inverse model proposes a design, then targeted alternatives are scored with a learned forward surrogate. On 5,000 held-out-pattern samples, refinement raises surrogate-based success from 79.44% to 93.18%, not physical-robot accuracy; physical examples show four animal-inspired configurations.
