The authors propose a login system that uses a Markov chain to dynamically select fingerprint, iris, or face recognition prompts. Its four states map unclearly to three modalities. The paper reports a 36 ms selection time and biometric times of 1,246, 2,867, and 2,943 ms; these component timings do not establish improved security or faster end-to-end authentication.
