About this paper

Amir Koutahi, Pouya Kananian, Hans-Arno Jacobsen

The paper compares single-pass linear combinations of unitaries (LCUs) with repeated branch–ancilla mixing. Under independence and zero-mean conditions on other branches, a single-pass LCU has variance at least the differentiated branch variance times the fourth power of its coefficient magnitude. A two-branch matchgate example has a polynomial branch contribution; repeated mixing concentrates exponentially only under joint Haar-random sampling.
