About this paper
Victor Barroso-Nascimento, Joaquim T. Waddington, Elaine Pimentel
The authors give a base-extension semantics for Prawitz’s ecumenical logic, interpreting classical and intuitionistic operators through derivations and extensions. They prove soundness and completeness for its propositional natural-deduction system. Beth-style clauses for atoms and disjunction are indiscriminate over unrestricted bases but characterize classical operators in the consistent-base setup; extension-only clauses also characterize classical implication. The setups differ in their treatment of falsity.
