The authors examine whether virtual reality can help study tremor by separating physical hand motion from its visual representation. In 15 healthy participants, headset tracking attenuated electrically induced tremor across six tasks, and all participants completed them. In eight patients with essential tremor, reaching had a median VR-to-real-world tremor-power ratio of 0.528; no individual task difference survived correction, and the comparison does not isolate visual feedback.
