About this paper
George Stamatelis, Konstantinos Koutroumbas
GSFC enables sparse fuzzy clustering by penalizing spread memberships while requiring each point’s memberships to sum to one, allowing irrelevant assignments to become zero. It alternates membership and representative updates, then prunes weak clusters and merges nearby ones. On a constructed eight-segment intersection, both settings recover the geometry; this does not establish general real-image detection or guaranteed cluster-count recovery.
