About this paper
Ao Chen, Shengchao Chen, Yan Luximon
CARE teaches visual agents when to re-examine high-resolution images before answering. It compares re-examination with commitment from the same search state, adjusts for observation cost, and assigns decision-specific credit to verdict tokens. On the six-source split, Qwen3-VL-8B raises macro Avg@32 accuracy from 46.0% to 48.5% while reducing mean visual looks from 2.09 to 1.97; results are limited to the paper’s evaluation protocols.
