DIMWIT uses pretrained models to choose resource actions from current state, goals, and permitted options, rather than relying on task-specific policies. In video encoding, Laya encoded Big Buck Bunny in about one-quarter of Claude Opus 5.5’s time, with less than one mean VMAF point of quality gain. These results cover tested video settings and do not establish general performance.
