The authors study whether data-sharing firms can form an exchange no coalition wants to leave. With top-performer-only demand and equal tie splitting, a stable exchange exists for prediction functions. With smooth demand, stability can fail: in a symmetric linear-prediction model, even full exchange requires an approximate-core factor above 1, approaching 1.207 for linear power demand and 1.333 for squared demand as firms grow.
