MaterialVellum turns design constraints into controls by mapping what is constrained and where onto familiar material gestures. Elastic bands set zoning boundaries, clay redistributes building density, and magnets represent compatibility; these interactions feed generation pipelines for visual design. In a ten-person pilot, 8 of 10 participants strongly agreed magnet gestures felt natural and were easy to manipulate, but the study had no baseline and did not assess design quality.
