About this paper

Aniruddha Sen

The paper gives a fixed quantum procedure for preparing any specified n-qubit state. It uses polynomially many queries to a target-dependent NP yes-or-no function alongside direct access to target-state entries. The procedure runs in polynomial time in n and log(1/ε), achieving squared overlap at least 1−ε. Setting ε=2^-n gives inverse-exponential error; the result assumes both oracle interfaces.
