PanoTac combines a dense pressure map with magnetic sensing in a compliant fingertip to provide contact geometry and shear-related cues. It maps sparse magnetic readings onto a shared 12 × 32 grid, alongside a spatially detailed normal-contact pattern. Across three manipulation tasks, its policy achieved 91.7% overall full-task success, versus 45.0% for vision only; the comparison does not isolate every causal contribution.
